Tuberculosis is a global disease, and drug-resistant tuberculosis is a public health crisis worldwide.
Only one third of MDR/RR-TB patients are registered for treatment.
In the absence of species identification results, NTM disease can be misdiagnosed as tuberculosis or bronchiectasis for a long time. Since the drug resistance patterns of NTM vary depending on the species, it is very important to conduct mycobacterial species identification and drug sensitivity testing before treatment.
